Description
Beef flavored cheesecake for Valentine's Day. I wanted to draw something fun for Tumblr, and I couldn't resist this reference image.
Time: 4 evenings. The base anatomy went surprisingly fast - maybe 30 minutes at worst for the quick volume sketch. His shins and shoes gave me fits, and I'm not sure I fully compensated for camera distortion in the reference. Still, the result is plausible enough for my purposes.
A bunch of time went into coloring and cleanup after I decided to refine this for high-res export. This is my first go at cel shading and screen toning, which involved equal measures of figuring out the desired results and learning to achieve them in Manga Studio. The body volume can probably stand to be pushed, but I was erring on the minimalist side.
